The short version
- You can delete a saved account in the app. We wait 7 days, then delete it for good.
- If you can’t get into the app, email us from the email address on your account and we’ll do it for you.
- Deleting removes your log-in, your first name, your answers and your progress.
- A guest account has no name or email on it, so we can only delete one we can be certain is yours.
- A problem report you sent stays, with nothing linking it to you.
1. Deleting your account in the app
If you created an account (Profile, under Save your climb), open the app, go to Profile, then Delete account. Deleting in the app clears your progress from that phone straight away.
We wait 7 days in case you change your mind. If you log back in during those 7 days, the deletion is cancelled, and your answers, streak, XP and settings are still there. The mastery and unlocked waypoints that were only on your phone were cleared when you asked to delete, and don’t come back. After 7 days we delete your account and everything saved with it. This can’t be undone.
2. Asking us by email
If you can’t get into the app, email privacy@krakendigital.it and ask us to delete your account. That address goes to Kraken Digital Services, who runs Anodos.
We have to be sure the account is yours before we delete it, because a deletion can’t be undone. So write from the email address on your account: the one you created it with, or the one Apple or Google gave us when you signed in. We reply to that address to confirm before we delete anything. We can’t act on a request about someone else’s account, even from a classmate or a friend who knows your email address, and we don’t accept a request from a different address.
If you signed in with Apple or Google and can still open the app, Profile, then Delete account is the quickest way, because the app already knows it’s you.
A guest account has no name or email on it, so we usually can’t tell which one is yours, and we won’t guess: deleting the wrong pupil’s practice would be worse. We delete a guest account only when we can be certain it’s yours. Uninstalling the app clears everything on your phone.
A parent or carer can write to us for you, from your address or with you copied in. We reply within one month, and it’s free.
3. What gets deleted
- your log-in, whether that’s an email address and password, or Apple or Google
- your first name
- every answer you gave, your progress, your streak and your settings
- any problem report you sent that is still open and still linked to you
- the count of how many reports you sent today, which we keep to stop spam
4. What we keep
- A problem report that a teacher has closed stays, so the teacher can see what was fixed. It holds the question, why you reported it, the answer you gave and the day you sent it, and nothing that links it to you. Your note is deleted 90 days after the report is closed.
- A report that was already unlinked from you earlier, because a teacher reopened it after closing it or your progress was reset, stays too, even while it is open. Its note is deleted 90 days after it was unlinked.
- Server logs with error codes and account IDs, which we use only to keep Anodos working. They don’t hold your name, email or answers.
Our privacy policy has the full list of what we keep and for how long.
5. On your own device
Deleting in the app clears your progress from that phone as well as from our servers. If we deleted your account for you by email, uninstall the app to clear the copy on your phone or tablet.
